Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrival in Kathmandu, Altitude 1350m.

Our airport representative will receive you from Tribhuwan International airport and after a short introduction, you will be transferred to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2:
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, Altitude 840m.

Here we start our destination from today. We will be driving for 6-7 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara 840m altitude. You will enjoy this beautiful journey by observing the hills, mountains, and rivers throughout the traveling period. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3:
Driving from Pokhara to Nayapool then trek to Ulleri, Altitude 1430m.

Again our journey starts with a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapool. Then after we will be trekking to Ulleri for 6 hours at 1430m altitude. It is an amazing experience of viewing the natural beauty and life experiences. Overnight at guest house.

Day 4:
Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani, Altitude 2860m.

Trekking from Ulleri to Ghorepani for 4-5 hours in 2860m altitude is an amazing experience exploring the flora and fauna along with snowcapped mountains, hills, and villages give you a memorable moment of life. Overnight at guest house.

Day 5:
Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill and then to Tadapani, altitude 3200m and Tadapani, altitude 2630m.

Trekking from Ghorepani Poon Hill for 6 hours in 3200m to 2630m altitude is an amazing experience exploring the flora and fauna along with snowcapped mountains, hills, and villages give you a memorable moment of life. Overnight at guest house.

Day 6:
Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk, Altitude 1780m.

Trekking from Tadapani to Ghandruk for 3-4 hours in 1780m altitude is an amazing experience exploring the flora and fauna along with snowcapped mountains, hills, and villages give you a memorable moment of life. Overnight at guest house.

Day 7:
Trek from Ghandruk to Birethanti and drive back to Pokhara, altitude 1050m.

Is a trekking permit mandatory for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek?

Yes, For the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, you have to make ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit that can be obtained from Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Kathmandu, and Damside, Pokhara.

There are two different permits ACAP permits and TIM’s card. The price of Permits and TIMS are:

-ACAP Permit cost: $30 US per person
-TIMS card cost: $10 US (a trek through trekking agency)
-TIMS card cost: $20 US (Trek by yourself)

What kind of Accommodation do we get in the Ghorepani Poon hill trek?

During your Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, you will be staying at locally made tea Houses and Lodges. On this trek, the accommodation will be private with twin beds and private lockers. You will have a comfortable mattress, pillows, small tea table, and Blanket in your room but the bathroom is not there inside. It is sharing and if you use a hot shower they will charge extra.

Is there electricity to charge my camera and phone?

Yes, there are many places where you can charge all your electronic devices. You have to bring all your cable or charger yourself. You are suggested to keep your entire electronic device warm inside the sleeping bag or blanket because the cold temperature drains batteries very quickly.

How hard is Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking?

The Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is probably the easy trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Every day the trekking distance from one settlement to the Next is Different however, usually, you have to walk 4 to 6 hours a day. If you are simply fit physically and mentally you can make it.

It is 4 days walking holiday but only the first 2 days will be ascending through the forest of rhododendron and the 2 last days is just descending through the forest and Villages.

What kind of foods are available during the Ghorepani Poon hill trek?

While trekking in the Annapurna Ghorepani area, your breakfast and Dinner will be served from the lodge similarly, your lunch provides by a local inn or Restaurant.

The Dhalbhat (Served with rice, curry, spinach, Lentil soup, pickle& Pappadam) is the name of Nepali food which is really popular in the mountains. Furthermore, you can have bread, set breakfast (served with bread, omelet, potatoes & Tea), Fried Noodles, fry rice, Mo: Mo (Dumpling food), the variety of soups, Ramayan Korean soup, Indian dishes, however, you can have almost all kind food but don’t expect professionally cooked food. It is simply made fresh and safe to eat.

Drinks are available too in the lodge and restaurant booths.

Is the Ghorepani trek risky from AMS (acute mountain sickness)?

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is an easy and low-altitude trek. The highest spot you will spend your night at Ghorepani (2,028 m), so during this short and easy trek, there are no chances to get High Altitude Mountain sickness. Usually, people might get altitude sickness after crossing 3500 meters.

What are the weather and climate situation in Poon Hill?

The weather and climate will depend on the season, there are 4 different seasons, however, Poon hill is a cold and windy view spot, thus you have to bring warm clothes with you such as a warm Hat, warm jacket, Gloves, headlight, and some snacks.

The weather gets really clear during October and November (autumn season) likewise March to May (spring season), so the autumn season and spring seasons are known as the best trekking season in Nepal including Ghorepani Poon hill. Furthermore, if you wish to explore Poon hill during the monsoon or winter that is absolutely possible, but the view can be on and off every day.

How Much local currency do I have to bring for the Ghorepani trek?
